A few years have passed since all science fiction works have become a reality, and the development of biotechnology has led to cloned sheep and the completion of the human genome project. I thought. Recently, I have been paying attention to the catastrophe of insects. Insects are considered to be symbolic creatures because they are at the bottom of the food chain and play a role in growing plants and breaking down fallen leaves and dead bodies. However, it is now becoming a problem that the total number of insects is decreasing by 2.5% every year and one-third of them are in danger of extinction. Through these things, I was inspired to turn my attention to technology and environmental issues in this work. From the expression of my familiar memories and feelings, I would like to do something through photographs and works that can be presented to the changing future.

あらゆるSF作品が現実になり、バイオテクノロジーの発達によりクローン羊やヒトゲノム計画の完了などから数年経った今、私は生物とは何か、生命とはなんなのかを再定義する必要があると考えました。 昨今では昆虫のカタストロフィについて注目しています。 昆虫は食物連鎖の底辺にいることや植物を成長させたり落ち葉や死骸を分解する役割があることから、生物 のシンボル的存在だと考えています。 しかし今、毎年2.5%ずつ昆虫の全体量が減っていることや3分の1が絶滅の危機に瀕していることが問題視されています。
このような事柄を通して私は、この作品でテクノロジーや環境問題に目を向けるきっかけになりました。 自分の身近な思い出と心情の表現から、これから変化する未来へ提示できることを写真や作品を通して何かしたいと考えています。
