Habaneros:Cuba1992-1995 from Down the road of Life series
by Masaki Hirano

The resolution of the Cold war has engendered various dramas in the lives of people around world. As one of the 1970”Ampo”(U.S.-
Japan Security Treaty)generation.
I was influenced by Socialism in my teens, and I traveled to Cuba four times between 1992 and 1995 to find out exactly what Socialism was.
Quite unlike the stem image of Russian Socialism, I came to love the boundlessly cheerful and kind people of Cuba.
There are simple and clear-cat, yet very difficult to solve, problems in Cuba.
I sincerely hope this generous and proud people are able to solve their problems and come to a “Soft landing” free of strife.
