The photographers in this issue were nominated by Yuko Yamaji, curator at the Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts. This museum is noted for its annual Young Portfolio initiative, which supports young photographers by soliciting and purchasing original prints of their works for inclusion in the museum’s permanent collections. Works selected for acquisition are shown at the Young Portfolio exhibition every year—always a stimulating event, with plenty of energetic and inspiring talents featured from all around the world.
For our issue we are particularly excited and grateful to have Yamaji introduce us to three artists from Taiwan. The works presented were chosen by the photographers themselves; all of the artists, except Che-Yi Yang, will also be on view at the Young Portfolio 2015 exhibition, scheduled at the Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts from March 19, 2016.
